"My Kung Fu training has been the vehicle that has allowed me to change from a shy young girl with low self esteem and low confidence to a woman who can stand up in front of a class of adults and children and teach them how to better themselves.
I grew up in Bulgaria and spent my youth as a member of an aerobics group competing at national and international level. I came to the UK in 2005 and began training in this system of Kung Fu shortly after. I have had many highlights, from passing my first grading to becoming an instructor, from doing my first block properly to becoming a double gold medal winner at the Southern Shaolin Invitational Tournament in China. Kung Fu has helped me understand the values of discipline, hard work and focus. While at the same time helping me learn the importance of patience, compassion and acceptance of oneself. I teach the women's and children’s classes and aim to inspire my student’s in all of my classes by helping them understand their own bodies and minds better. Kung Fu is a great way to empower oneself and being a mother to two young children, I feel it is of paramount importance that our children are taught from a young age that anything they want to achieve in life comes from their own effort and hard work. I have not come across anything that teaches this better than traditional martial arts." |
