FAQ’s

I'm very unfit. Can I still join?

Absolutely! Martial arts are for individuals of all fitness levels. Our classes are structured to allow you to progress at your own pace, building strength, flexibility, and endurance over time.

Every student begins at their own starting point, and we’re here to support and guide you on your journey to better fitness and skill.

What should I wear for my first class?

For your first class, wear comfortable workout clothing that allows for movement, such as a t-shirt and loose-fitting tracksuit bottoms or shorts. Please remove any jewellery and watches before class.

If you have items that can’t be removed, ensure they are adequately covered to prevent injury. As you continue with us, we’ll guide you on getting the appropriate uniform and gear.

How often should I attend classes to see progress?

We recommend attending classes at least 2-3 times a week for consistent progress. However, everyone’s schedule and learning pace is different. The key is regular practice and commitment.

Can training at Kung Fu Zone benefit my mental health and overall wellbeing?

Absolutely! Martial arts are as much about mental wellbeing as they are about physical training. Regular practice not only instills values like discipline, respect, patience, and focus but also promotes mental health by reducing stress, anxiety and enhancing self-esteem.

The skills and values you acquire can positively impact other areas of life, supporting both your mental and physical wellbeing.

How do you ensure safety during training?

Safety is paramount to us. All our instructors have first aid training, have undergone
enhanced DBS checks, and are trained in safeguarding. We teach techniques in a controlled environment, emphasising correct form, warm-ups, and cool-downs to minimise the risk of injuries.

During sparring or specific drills, protective gear is always used to ensure everyone’s safety.
